Description
Role purpose: This role will be responsible for development, integration, and implementation of configuration processes, procedures, and solutions within the M-Pesa, IPG, M-Pesa APP, 3rd party system and AML (Siron) platform and develop, implement, and coordinate plans and procedures for configuration management required to effectively identify, manage adaptations of, and report current status of product designs.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
- Document a configuration management (CM) concept that spans the complete development cycle that references industry best practice and supports the use of Agile Methodology;
- Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement that encourages experimentation and innovation to be able to effect application configuration changes either hands on, through change process or by directing others;
- Responsible for conducting Configuration Reviews to include but not limited to requirements, problem reports, defects and bug reports;
- Collaborates with Delivery team and stakeholders to understand configuration management requirements on assigned projects, paying particular attention the Change Management Process;
- Reviews Product Description documents and perform Business Assessment to ensure proper product design configuration as per requirements.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Strong Demonstrable competence in Project management (Waterfall and Agile), stakeholder and vendor management;
- Subject matter knowledge of mobile payments Applications and HW covering deployment, configuration, test and release;
- Provision of broad technical and business knowledge and understanding of mobile telecommunications, mobile payments or other similar financial systems;
- Remote working experience Use of excellent communication and decision-making skills with sufficient understanding and ability to balance multiple conflicting interests;
- Ability to prepare and present materials (reports and presentations) to Market Exec level.
Must have technical / professional qualifications
- Experience in Software Development lifecycle in agile and waterfall methodologies and business systems configuration, data analysis and data structuring, logical data design techniques – 2-3 years;
- Understanding of the financial services industry and mobile payments (e.g banking, mobile money, retail financial services) with 3+ years’ experience with data modeling, business analytics, and finance concepts for IT or Digital Technology function;
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or equivalent;
- Service Delivery Qualification – ITIL, ITIL based configuration management processes and tools and experience in the use of AGILE tools;
- Experience/Knowlege of SQL (Oracle), and programming language, (Java), Python and C++.
