Description
Role Purpose: This is a key role in ensuring that our in-market delivery teams can support our “continuous delivery pipeline” and the continuous delivery of valuable features to our customers. You will relentlessly innovate to improve our processes and delivery timescales and share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues and peers to ensure infrastructure and networking best practices are implemented.
Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for implementing the in-market network infrastructure and solution changes required to support effective and continuous delivery of value to our customers
• Design end to end network changes to support the creation of new application services
• Implement network changes either hands on, through our change control or by directing others
• Ensure network security, including VPNs, certificates and encryption mechanisms are correctly implemented to ensure the safety of our data
• Provide technical support, diagnostic and problem resolution expertise within our market networks
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
• Deep technical knowledge and demonstrable experience of IP/MPLS technologies
• Experience of hardware and software change lifecycles in an agile delivery environment
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure virtualization technology and Firewalls
• Experience operating in an agile organisation using Scrum and Kanban techniques to manage and deliver work – experience of Agile Scaling Frameworks an advantage
• Competent with AWS Cloud infrastructure and services, Infrastructure as Code / Terraform scripts and containerisation – Docker, Kubernetes
Must have technical / professional qualifications
• 6 or more years’ experience of the architecture, design, implementation and testing of networking and integration components
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject or equivalent vocational experience
• Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems certification (desirable)
• Cisco Certifications will be valuable

• % Changes completed within SLA
• Number of continuous improvement items raised and implemented
• % Improvement in the “flow cycle time” showing reduced time to market.
