Short Description/ Purpose of Job
To enable, support and facilitate the safe and responsible execution of operations towards zero harm and sustainability through a proactive safety approach. This position will render a service toward full calendar of the project.
Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities
Promote and facilitate the implementation of Safety management system elements according ISO 45001;
Ensure effective delivery of targets through monitoring and responding proactively to hazards in the workplace.
Conduct hazard identification in the workplace, facilitate safety related risk assessments, lead incident investigations and facilitate RCAs (Root Cause Analyses);
Participate in the development of shutdown planning and campaigns and ad hoc Service Provider audits on site to check compliance to SHE (Safety Health and Environment) files requirements;
Participate in safety system audits, e.g. Logbook audits, lock-out audits, legal appointment audits, insurance engineer’s audits etc;
Provide input during risk assessments to ensure safety issues are identified
Provide advice on the selection and use of specific PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and participate in the respective forums
Participate in the roll out of the Safety Improvement Plan and report updates as required
Ensure personal and team development while coaching the team and others with regards to Safety
Ensure results through the management of personal and team meet targets (e.g. due dates and quality standards) in alignment to performance contracts
Manage ad-hoc requests and tasks in relation to Safety
Review and contribute to policies, standards and procedures
Identify, evaluate and recommend improvement opportunities
Input into the compilation of new and the revision of existing safety procedures and instructions
Formal Education
University Degree in Health and Safety or other technical field (e.g. Construction, Engineering, Business)
Min Experience
5+ relevant years in large scale construction projects, Oil and Gas, Mining, Chemical or Manufacturing Industries or related industries
Certification & Professional Membership
Health and Safety NEBOSH or similar Certificate / Diploma for non-Health and Safety Graduates
