Senior Process Engineer  

Role: 

The Senior Process Engineer will provide technical support and assist the Lead Process Engineer to  achieve high engineering standards, improve plant thermal efficiency and daily plant operation. To  achieve this objective, the incumbent will carry out daily heat and material heat balance for the train,  performing unit simulation to verify actual optimum operating conditions, monitor key process  parameters and investigate root causes and response to plant operational problems. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out and monitor trending of key process parameters of the unit, safe and operating window.  In case of any deviation, perform preliminary investigation and recommends short-term actions.
  • Monitor day-to-day plant production and provide timely process supports to plant operation to  secure plant operational integrity and maximize production. 
  • Monitor plant and equipment performance to identifying opportunities for optimization and  improvement. 
  • Implement process performance testing schedule. Support any required process simulation.
  • Prepare process performance tests: discuss test procedures with plant operators, collect  performance data and prepare performance test report. 
  • Participate Actively in HAZOP/Safety review of plant operation and design modification MOCs.
  • Perform site inspection of material/chemical degradation, supervise and inspect condition of mole  sieve bed during replacement and perform quality control for loading and unloading of mole sieve  bed and activated carbon.  
  • Support engineering and operation work instruction; prepare and issue procedures such as Hazard  Operability Studies, molecular sieve replacement procedures, etc. 
  • Maintain process simulation and design software. 
  • Participate in the plant de-bottlenecking exercise and plant expansion study: scope of study, cost  estimates, prepare basis of design and specifications, review of engineering deliverables, support  project CSU and performance test. 
  • Perform minor process troubleshooting and recommend short and term actions. Provide the process  operating guideline to the shift Operation for safe and efficient operating envelope.
  • Participate in investigations of plant trips and slowdowns, support issuing the report.
  • Support Operation Emergency Respond Plan; identify actions to be taken by plant operators in the  event emergencies. 
  • Participate in HSE audit. 
  • Respond to Operation call-out during off office hours. 
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance, production and, Project departments regarding  selection, operation and the troubleshooting of the plant. 
  • Develop, plan and execute Process scope of work and resources required for shutdowns and  turnarounds whether planned or opportunistic. 
  • Provide engineering expertise and guidance on process operations, projects, instrumentation  controls and ensure assets are utilized and/or modified safely and in accordance with applicable  codes and standards. 
  • Extract and report the lesson learnt from the operation experience during plant upset.
  • Evaluate performance of equipment and systems post-commissioning after project completion and  follow up close-out of outstanding items. 
  • Close out RCFA, Insurance, Shareholder and other Audit Action Items. 
  • Interface with the Operations and Technical Service Engineering Team as contact point for all issues  related to the process changes, controls systems modification and redesign. 

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Chemical Engineering. 
  • Total years of experience are 5-7 years in the oil, gas and petrochemical field with at least 3 years  in APCI LNG plants. 
  • HSE/LNG operations/Communications/Project management 
  • Good experience in HYSYS process simulation program, P&ID’s development and equipment  specifications, HAZOP studies, Operation of gas plant Start-up and Commissioning.
  • Fluent knowledge of English.
